The first thing to remember is Outlook 2011 is the first Outlook version on Mac, it’s a replacement for Entourage, so when searching for how to create a new Profile, you’re really searching for how to create a new Identity, that’s what Entourage used to call them. If you’re coming from a Windows environment (like me) then you’ll just be calling it a Profile, but that’s why you’ve ended up at my post instead of somewhere else, you’re calling it by the wrong name.
Whatever you want to call it, you can change it and Delete it by going to the following location:
Open Finder
Click on Applications
Open the folder "Office 2011"
Open the folder "Add-ins"
Open the "Microsoft Database Utility"
You can use the Plus and Minus at the bottom to add new or remove Identities (Profiles) for Outlook 2011
Sean, I think I’m going to read this daily at work and just pretend like I still live with you and you teach me how ignorant I really am of anything to deal with computing.
SEAN you are great!!!
by the way, once the identities are made, how to I switch from one to another?
thanks

Sam,
Thanks for the comment, From what I can tell, you need to created a second identity in the Microsoft Database Utility, and then select that new identity as the default. I’ve not been able to find any other way to do it.
Thanks,
Hi Sean,
Found your page after doing a Google search. This is what I was looking for. FYI: There is also a shortcut for this utility by pressing FN, Control, or some other key when you start up Outlook. Sorry I can’t remember what it was but I figured if I put it on here someone else may post the combination.
Thanks,
Jim
Thank you for this post. It worked perfect!!
By the way, it’s the ALT key which will open the Microsoft database utility when clicking over the O outlook icon.
Wait, I cannot fathom it being so straihgotfrward.
In addition, u can use Rules in outlook and separate email by directing each account emails to a specific directory (which u ‘ve created b4).

I am not familiar with Mac and have a really weird problem. I just wanted to try to add another profile to see if I can resolve it.
This was much help. Thank you.
Set Outlook switching Identities dialog display automatically whenever you open Outlook:
You can make the Outlook switching Identities dialog display automatically whenever you open Outlook. To make the dialog available:
Quit Outlook (pressing Command-Q quits any application).
In Finder, open your Microsoft Office 2011 Identities folder.
Change the name of the folder of your default Outlook Identity.
Start Outlook.
Select the Show This List When Opening Outlook check box.
Be sure to select the Show This List When Opening Outlook check box. It’s a handy tool for switching Identities instead of using the Database Utility. You can then choose the Identity you want to use and click OK without having to open the Database Utility.

Outlook crashed and I had to rebuild the Identity database. It consumed and I lost almost 8GB of memory of storage (MacAir). Can I create a new profile, add back in all the data and recover that space I lost?
Thanks
